This is a discipleship study led by the Senior Pastor which takes a deeper look at Scripture and attempts to answer the question, “How should this concept look in our lives today?”

Helping Hands

Helping Hands is a service ministry of The Open Door Church. This group is charged with the responsibility of managing the church’s Food Pantry. Participants meet at the church’s “Outreach Center” at various times during the week to prepare for ODC’s monthly Food Distribution.

The members of the worship team are charged with the responsibility of leading The Open Door congregation into the presence of the Lord during Sunday morning worship services. They meet @ the “Worship Center” on Mondays @ 7 p.m., Wednesdays @ 7 p.m., and Sundays @ 9 a.m. to prepare for their ministry during the Sunday worship services.

Let's Pray

Let’s Pray is the organized prayer ministry of The Open Door Church. Participants in this group believe in the power of prayer. They serve by providing both basic maintenance and construction skills to benefit the ministries of ODC.

Missions

The Open Door Church prayerfully and financially supports both local missions and foreign missions. On the first Sunday of each month we receive a mission offering to support ODC’s Food Pantry, Matthew 25 House, Proverb 31 House, Hispanic Ministry, and the Celebration Churches in Davao City and Manila, Philippines.

Creative Environments

Creative Environments is the decorating team of The Open Door Church. Participants in this group are charged with the responsibility of using their interior design skills to create a welcoming worship environment in the “Worship Center”.

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry ministry is an evangelistic outreach of The Open Door Church. Free food is given away on the second Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. till noon at the “Outreach Center”. Meeting this basic physical need creates an opportunity for us to share the “Jesus Story” with approximately 3,000 people each year! Hundreds have received the Lord Jesus Christ and His gift of eternal life since this ministry was launched in August 2013.

Sounding Out the Word

Sounding Out the Word is the audio/video ministry of The Open Door Church. The participants of this group are charged with the responsibility of providing a high-quality audio and video experience during ODC’s worship services. They also record ODC’s Sunday sermons and post video and printed versions of the sermons on the ODC website, as well as provide weekly Facebook livestreams of ODC worship services.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes

As a discipleship ministry to students at Holcomb High School, The Open Door Church hosts the regular meetings of the Holcomb High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes on alternating Thursdays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. throughout the school year @ ODC’s Outreach Center. Pizza, soft drinks, and a brief lesson from God’s Word are highlights of each meeting.

Probation & Parole

ODC's ministry to the residents of Dunklin County's Probation & Parole Center consists of a Bible study in the facility on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. Men in the facility are taught simple Bible lessons designed to introduce them to Jesus so they might receive His gift of eternal life and equip them to effectively follow Him while they are incarcerated in the facility as well as when they are released from the facility.

A Stitch in Time

Freedom House

Freedom House is both an evangelistic and discipleship ministry made possible by a partnership between The Open Door Church and Mission Teens, Inc. It is an 8-10 month residential program designed to help people find freedom from addiction by introducing them to the Lord Jesus Christ and exposing them to His truth. Jesus said, “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32, NIV).

Matthew 25 House

Matthew 25 House is a transitional housing facility for men designed to equip its residents to successfully transition from institutional living to private living. The program utilized by Matthew 25 House is designed to address seven vital areas of human life required to successfully reenter private life from institutional life: Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, Physical, Relational, Occupational, and Financial. All instruction offered in the Matthew 25 Program is based on the belief that the Bible is the Word of God and is therefore totally reliable and accurate and is the only effective guide for a successful life. Paul wrote, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work" (II Timothy 3:16-17, NIV).
